I never ever tire of watching the master at its ability to weave intricate webs that are a miracle of organic engineering. I watched in awe as this little male who was about 4 mm in size casting his net that glimmered as if miniscule threads of a rainbow against the back drop of the sun. Those tiny strands of magic danced so softly and gently in the cool Autumn breeze as he seemed to race against the setting of the sun in an effort to finish before it was caressed by the horizon. I have never seen such a tiny spider spin so fast, effortlessly and beautifully, creating it's dream catcher in perfect symmetry.
I watched from early stages of the web construction to the time of this teeny creature returning to the silky core to wait patiently which wasn't really necessary because a microscopic meal in the form of a miggie came flying unaware straight into the web soon after. Amused I was by a strange display of 'readiness' though as he had both front legs straight up in the air as if in karate chop mode. Unless he was warning the lens of my camera, I can't really say.
As I witnessed and photographed this magnificent spectacle before my eyes I became increasingly aware of how connected I am to something far more powerful than I am, something miraculous in conception of all that is beautiful. Joined to this force just as the individual strands of a spider web are connected to a whole which define its purpose. That I am the weaver of my own fate and while I wait patiently for my rewards I may as well enjoy the spectacular views that life gives so freely without asking anything in return.
How I see it...
I see, speak and write in metaphors because I feel there is much we can learn from nature, people and our surroundings as depicted in my photographs and why I enjoy sharing my thoughts. Not in any attempt to convince or convert you to my way of thinking, seeing or feeling but to share how I see and experience MY mind map of the world. You at no time have to agree, all I ask is that my views and the views of others who wish to express theirs are kindly respected. So relax, get comfy and just enjoy. Happy reading!
