I find it really sad that folks in the photography industry or voyeurs alike feel the need to label and box and bitch and moan about the subject choice of or the apparent delusional mind frame that we're in to think that photographing dandelions is high art. I have never once said or thought that lol. I do it because it makes me incredibly happy and it's not the only thing I photograph either but because I post more dandelions than anything else does that make me less respected as a photographer? What you and I choose to photograph is our business because it makes YOU or ME happy, it's not about 'them'. And if it is about 'them' you're doing it for the wrong reason, unless you're being paid to do a specific job. I choose to share my photographs because I would like onlookers to feel that same happiness in the whimsical presence of something common that can be made really beautiful with a little imagination, hell who needs more bad news and heartbreak with the crap that's going on? I wish on a dandelion that folks would just concentrate more on themselves and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing or whether it's serious enough to be considered legitimate art or high end photography. Do you honestly care? And when people have photography as a passion or as an interest, having that one thing in common, why can't all genres as well as the people practicing them just be respected instead of berated, mocked or considered 'less than'? Makes no sense to me. None. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest, it's been there for a while
How I see it...
I see, speak and write in metaphors because I feel there is much we can learn from nature, people and our surroundings as depicted in my photographs and why I enjoy sharing my thoughts. Not in any attempt to convince or convert you to my way of thinking, seeing or feeling but to share how I see and experience MY mind map of the world. You at no time have to agree, all I ask is that my views and the views of others who wish to express theirs are kindly respected. So relax, get comfy and just enjoy. Happy reading!
