Absent camera, present words

This morning...well. I am met with many experiences that leave me breathless but none so vivid and beautiful as what greeted me on this vaporous day. Unfortunately most of the time these experiences have me without my camera close at hand. So I will try to paint this picture with my words instead.

Negotiating potholes in a myriad of mud and shallow pools on the gravel that takes me home, my eyes were witness to a spectacular stage in the sky. A splash of hundreds of tiny Swallow suddenly took to the high mist mysteriously from the power lines they were perched on. I could not understand why they leapt so swiftly in unison when unexpectedly an enormous Long Crested Eagle swooped in graciously from behind my vehicle as I slammed on the brakes and skidded to a stop. In a circular frenzy the Swallow created a collective spiral vortex around this magnificent king of the sky who was undeterred by the panic of these miniature by comparison companions of the air as he flew right through it. He just continued his graceful journey before making an agile landing on a power line post where the moisture of this morning had obviously weighed down his plumage on an already weighted frame. Shaking off the wet, resting for a small while before taking in a birds eye view and obviously uncomfortable with my clumsy presence trudging through the mud to get a better view of him, he spread his vast wings launching off the post with the grace of a ballerina and disappeared into the safety of natures camouflage leaving me standing there with my mouth wide open, catching the rain and bursting with gratitude for the remarkable beauty that I was so blessed to have been able to capture in the eye of my mind.

Nature never ever ceases to amaze me. Ever.

    How I see it...

I see, speak and write in metaphors because I feel there is much we can learn from nature, people and our surroundings as depicted in my photographs and why I enjoy sharing my thoughts. Not in any attempt to convince or convert you to my way of thinking, seeing or feeling but to share how I see and experience MY mind map of the world. You at no time have to agree, all I ask is that my views and the views of others who wish to express theirs are kindly respected. So relax, get comfy and just enjoy. Happy reading!
